The International Islamic University Islamabad convened its 104th selection board over two days to examine a range of academic appointments and related matters. The session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saad Alahmed, brought together senior academics and jurists to ensure decisions align with institutional priorities and merit.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed served as Secretary of the Board. Members in attendance included Honourable Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar, Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza from Fatima Jinnah Women University, Prof. Dr. Sadia Nadeem of FAST School of Management, Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmed of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Inayatullah Khan as the HEC nominee from UET Taxila.
The proceedings focused on cases from the Faculty of Usuluddin, the Faculty of Sciences, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, with the IIUI selection board giving particular attention to clearing a backlog of pending cases. The President underlined that the university leadership is advancing a new strategic plan to strengthen academic excellence and institutional efficiency, and that all appointments will be made on the basis of transparency and merit.
The Secretary acknowledged the coordination efforts of Prof. Dr. Rahmat Ellahi, Director QAD, and Mr. Ateeq ur Rehman Chughtai, Director HR, and thanked Deans, faculty representatives, and teams from QAD, HR, Meeting Section, and Protocol and Public Relations for facilitating the smooth conduct of the board. The university indicated that these decisions will support ongoing reforms and help expedite academic staffing across departments.
