Health Services Academy and federal partners led campus activities to promote diabetes prevention among youth during World Diabetes Day week.

Health Services Academy, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination Islamabad and the Prime Minister’s Program for Prevention and Control of Diabetes Mellitus, held an awareness activity on its Islamabad campus during the national theme week of World Diabetes Day, 10–14 November 2025. The event focused on youth sensitisation, lifestyle modification and early prevention, with an advocacy station inviting students to share short recorded messages.

At the advocacy station students recorded concise testimonials explaining simple actions they can take to prevent diabetes and why diabetes prevention matters to them and their communities. Participants emphasised practical steps such as healthier eating habits, increased physical activity and early screening as ways to reduce risk and protect long-term health, reflecting a grassroots approach to behaviour change among young Pakistanis.

These youth-produced messages will be compiled to support a wider social media campaign led by the Ministry of Health to promote healthy living and encourage preventive behaviours across Pakistan. By amplifying student voices the initiative aims to make diabetes prevention more relatable and actionable for families, schools and communities nationwide.

The collaboration underscores a shared commitment among national institutions to raise awareness and empower young people with the knowledge and tools needed for effective diabetes prevention, strengthening public health outreach ahead of and beyond World Diabetes Day.
