Rawalpindi police launch district wide search operations

Rawalpindi police conduct large scale search and snap checks across the district to curb criminal elements and secure Eid al-Adha celebrations.

On the directions of CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, Rawalpindi police have launched grand search operations and special snap checking across the district with heavy contingents of police and other law enforcement agencies deployed for the effort. Senior officers including SSP Operations are directly supervising field teams to ensure coordinated action.

Searches and checks are underway in multiple localities across the district, including Pirodhae, City, Ganjmandi, Waris Khan, New Town, Sadiqabad, Chakri, Kallar Syedan, Kahuta, Gujar Khan, Dhamial, Mandra, Rawat, Wah Cantt, Morgah, Race Course, Array Bazaar, Nasirabad, the Airport area, Taxila, Vestridge, Sadar Wah, Civil Lines, Chaklala and Cantt. Special pickets have been established at the city’s entry and exit points while joint check posts with other agencies continue snap checking on key routes.

During the operations Rawalpindi police are conducting thorough checks at bus terminals, residences, hostels, hotels, sarais, markets, shops and other public places. So far two proclaimed offenders and two Afghan nationals have been arrested in connection with various cases, reflecting the immediate impact of the sweep.

The Rawalpindi police say the search operations aim to take decisive action against anti‑social and criminal elements and to maintain public safety during Eid al‑Adha. More than 3,700 officers are deployed on security and traffic duties across the city for the festivities, and the force is employing all available resources to protect citizens’ life and property, the police spokesperson added.
