AIMS Sports Gala Inspires Youth

AIMS Sports Gala brought traditional games and athletics to Islamabad students with a visit from Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi and awards for winners.

The AIMS Sports Gala 2025 at AIMS School & College in Islamabad brought students together for a vibrant day of traditional and modern sports, with Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi attending as the focal person for the Prime Minister Youth Program and President of the Pakistan Council for Traditional Sports and Games.

Organised by CEO Imtiaz Ali Rizvi, the event opened with a ceremonial torch lighting led by Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi and continued with enthusiastic participation from approximately 450 students. Competitions included Pithoo Garam, Bante, football, tug-of-war, running races and other traditional sports that highlighted local athletic heritage and teamwork.

The group parade created an energetic atmosphere across the campus, and students voiced patriotic slogans that amplified the festive spirit. Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi said he was delighted to visit, adding that meeting the children and seeing the organised setup was truly heartening, and noting that the institution provides excellent opportunities for young people.

On the broader role of sports he remarked that these activities complement education and prepare children to represent the country in future endeavours, and he reaffirmed that the Prime Minister Youth Program aims to create meaningful development opportunities for every child.

CEO Imtiaz Ali Rizvi thanked Syed Zeeshan Ali Naqvi for his presence, noting that the visit boosted student morale and underscored the importance of the occasion. During the closing ceremony Naqvi toured classrooms and facilities, met students, and praised the event’s organisation.

Medals, shields and certificates were presented to position holders as the gala concluded, leaving organisers and students optimistic that the AIMS Sports Gala will continue to inspire youth participation in both traditional games and organised sports across Islamabad.
