The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York presented Pakistani cuisine at the International Food Festival 2025 held at the Turkish House, an event organized by the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York to celebrate global diversity through food and culture. The Pakistani participation highlighted culinary traditions alongside people-to-people engagement and cultural exchange.
A wide cross-section of attendees including diplomats, officials from the City of New York, United Nations representatives and members of diverse communities sampled the displays and engaged with consular staff. The Pakistani booth attracted steady crowds and was frequently praised for authentically representing regional flavours, warm hospitality and the vibrant spice palette that defines Pakistani cuisine.
Visitors enjoyed a curated selection of traditional offerings such as Chicken Biryani, Seekh Kebab, Gajar Halwa and Kashmiri Chae, each prepared to reflect home-style recipes and presentation. The emphasis on genuine tastes and the stories behind the dishes helped communicate Pakistan’s cultural depth to an international audience, reinforcing how Pakistani cuisine serves as a bridge between communities.
Delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Georgia, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Malaysia, Nepal, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Serbia, Thailand, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates also showcased their national cuisines, creating a lively atmosphere of exchange. Traditional music and cultural performances further enriched the festival and encouraged dialogue among participants.
By taking part in the International Food Festival 2025, the Consulate General reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to cultural diplomacy and strengthening ties with the international community in New York.
