The two-day Digital EmpowerHer Forum in Islamabad brought together young women from Swabi, Mardan, Peshawar, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad to advance their leadership and participation in Pakistan’s digital landscape.
Participants engaged with national innovation and technology institutions such as PESB, P@SHA, STZA, NICs and SMEDA, gaining insight into career pathways, start-up support and market access while building cross-provincial networks that can scale local initiatives.
The forum mapped practical pathways to strengthen digital skills, spur innovation and boost economic participation, connecting training to entrepreneurship and employment opportunities across regions.
Organisers highlighted progress under the D4WEE Project, which has supported hundreds of young women across provinces through digital skills training, policy roundtables, exhibitions and mentorship initiatives that aim to close the digital divide for women.
UN Women and KOICA reaffirmed their commitment to equipping young women to participate in and lead Pakistan’s digital future, stressing that sustained investment in digital skills and stronger links with industry and innovation hubs is vital for inclusive economic growth.
