Cadet College Kohat alumni marked 60 years in Islamabad with veterans, dignitaries and scholarship initiatives reaffirming the Kohatian legacy.

Ex-cadets of Cadet College Kohat gathered in Islamabad on 25 Nov 2025 to mark six decades of the institution that has shaped leaders from the 1st Entry of 1965 through to the recently graduated 56th Entry. The reunion drew Kohatians across generations to celebrate the college’s enduring role in Pakistan’s armed forces, civil services, business, media and social sectors.

Senior figures and veterans attended the ceremony, including Major General (R) Haroon Pasha, Lt General (R) Sabahat Hussain, Commodore (R) Mahmood ur Rehman and Admiral (R) Asif Sandila, the former Chief of Naval Staff, alongside other senior government and military officials who paid tribute to the college’s contribution to national service.

The event featured the college anthem penned by celebrated poet Ahmed Faraz, speeches from alumni and a solemn prayer for Kohatians martyred in service to Pakistan. Alumni were honoured with mementos presented by the Kohatian Association, and veterans recalled formative memories that underscored the transformative impact of Cadet College Kohat on successive generations.

Major (R) Javed Rana, a first-entry alumnus and 1971 war veteran, reflected on the college’s influence, saying, “It isn’t an ordinary institution; it has shaped thousands of students who went on to serve the country.” His remarks resonated with younger alumni who attended the reunion to reconnect and share experiences across decades.

The Kohatian Association, registered under Pakistan’s charity regulations, described its work supporting alumni networking, professional development and cadet scholarships through an endowment fund. The association highlighted recent steps to strengthen governance and engagement, including a modern e-voting system and online donations to bolster transparency and broaden support for scholarships.

The motto “Once a Kohatian, Always a Kohatian” was repeatedly invoked during the celebrations, reflecting a spirit of lifelong camaraderie. As Cadet College Kohat marks 60 years, alumni and supporters reaffirmed their commitment to sustain the institution’s legacy and to continue investing in future cadets who will carry forward the Kohatian tradition.
