PRCS marks International Volunteer Day in Islamabad, honoring volunteers with tributes, a march, stage play and awards to celebrate community service.

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society marked International Volunteer Day in Islamabad under the theme Every Contribution Matters, with students from Cadet College Hasan Abdal and other institutions taking part in a march past and a stage play that celebrated the Red Cross Red Crescent legacy.

Chairperson Mrs. Farzana Naek paid tribute to volunteers for their dedication, calling them the heart of PRCS humanitarian work and encouraging young people to step forward to serve their communities across Pakistan.

Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan underlined the vital role PRCS volunteers play in disaster response and community programmes nationwide. Representatives from the IFRC and the German Red Cross also attended to honour volunteer service and to reaffirm their ongoing support.

The ceremony concluded with shields of appreciation and a cake cutting to recognise volunteers who continue to make a difference, underscoring how International Volunteer Day highlights grassroots commitment and the importance of local volunteer engagement.
