Discover how the Sartyoon Sang Exhibition by SRSO in Karachi empowers rural women artisans, praised by IBCC Executive Director Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah.

The Executive Director of the Inter Boards Coordination Commission, Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, attended the 17th Sartyoon Sang Exhibition organized by the Sindh Rural Support Organization in Karachi on the special invitation of SRSO CEO Mr Muhammad Dittal Kalhoro. The event showcased exceptional craftsmanship from rural women across Sindh, bringing traditional textiles, embroidery and handicrafts to a city audience eager to support homegrown artisans.

During his visit Dr Mallah commended SRSO’s sustained work, describing the organisation as a strong example of how targeted support can financially empower rural women while preserving their cultural heritage. He highlighted the role of the Sartyoon Sang Exhibition in giving women artisans visibility at national and international forums and praised efforts to create market linkages that allow them to earn with dignity.

Dr Mallah also acknowledged Mr Kalhoro’s leadership in building a sustainable platform that helps women remain economically self-reliant. The focus on skill development and enterprise support at the Sartyoon Sang Exhibition underscores practical steps that convert traditional skills into reliable income for households across Sindh.

SRSO is a non-profit working to reduce poverty through community empowerment.
