PPAF recently hosted an interactive session with farmers from Neelum Valley, providing a platform to hear directly from the communities it serves. The meeting allowed PPAF farmers to outline their day-to-day experiences, the obstacles they face and the practical innovations they are adopting to improve yields and livelihoods.
Nadir Gul, CEO of PPAF, and Mr. Arshad Rashid, Chief Programmes, welcomed participants and engaged in a detailed dialogue on local priorities. The conversation focused on hands-on farming practices, the challenges of working in mountainous terrain and ways PPAF can tailor support to strengthen resilience and sustainable production.
Farmers shared inspiring success stories of saffron and mushroom cultivation made possible through PPAF’s Local Area Development Programme, implemented by BERD Foundation. These initiatives have provided practical training and support that helped families diversify income, improve food security and adopt more sustainable approaches suited to Neelum Valley’s environment.
PPAF remains committed to supporting farming communities by encouraging innovation, resilience and inclusive growth. Continued engagement with local farmers aims to scale successful models, reinforce livelihoods and contribute to a more sustainable future for Neelum Valley through collaborative local development efforts.
