Rana Sikandar Hayat, Punjab Higher Education Minister, on Wednesday conducted a detailed inspection of the under-construction new building and multipurpose hall at the Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. He was accompanied by the Commissioner of Gujranwala Division, the Chairman of the Gujranwala Board, Controller of Examinations Dr Prof Ihtesham Jan Butt, Board Secretary Prof Rashid Ahmad Bhatti, Audit Officer Zia-ul-Murtaza Farooqi and the Public Relations Officer who also serves as President of the Employees Welfare Association.
The delegation reviewed the pace of construction, overall quality and different stages of completion. Officials briefed the minister on progress achieved so far and provided timelines for finishing the project. The minister and accompanying officers expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development work and instructed the team to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe while ensuring quality standards.
Those on site said the new building and multipurpose hall will significantly strengthen the Gujranwala Board’s administrative and academic operations. Once completed, the facilities are expected to ease official workload, improve examination-related arrangements and provide better working conditions for employees and visiting candidates.
The President of the Employees Welfare Association described the project as an important step for staff welfare and applauded the board administration for advancing a scheme that will directly benefit employees and examinees. Officials noted the multipurpose hall will be used for examination meetings, training sessions and official events, reducing dependency on external venues and supporting smoother operations for the Gujranwala Board.
Under directions from the Punjab government, improvement of infrastructure in educational institutions remains a priority and the visit comes amid wider upgrades across boards in the province. A firm resolve was reiterated to ensure timely completion of all development projects and to continue efforts to improve institutional performance through better facilities, disciplined management and effective use of public funds.
