Pharmacists Trained on Root Cause Analysis and CAPA

Over 100 pharmacists joined PPA Lahore training on Root Cause Analysis and CAPA to boost regulatory compliance and quality systems.

On January 17, 2026 in Lahore, the Pakistan Pharmacists Association hosted a focused training session at PPA House on Root Cause Analysis and CAPA as regulatory requirement, attended by pharmacists from industry, hospitals and regulatory bodies.

The session opened with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcome remarks from Muhammad Alamgir Rao, president of PPA Centre, Professor Dr. Syed Atif Raza, president PPA Punjab, and Dr. Umair Ikram Dar, general secretary PPA Punjab, who greeted the guest speaker and participants.

Dr. Muhammad Nadeem, scrutiny officer at the Punjab Quality Control Board, delivered the keynote presentation, explaining the importance and regulatory status of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). He illustrated practical applications with examples drawn from manufacturing, hospital practice and regulatory inspections, highlighting how robust root cause analysis underpins effective CAPA and helps meet compliance obligations.

Participants engaged actively throughout the session, posing detailed questions that Dr. Muhammad Nadeem answered with practical and comprehensive guidance. At the close, certificates were presented to attendees in recognition of their participation.

More than 100 pharmacists took part in the event. Present among others were PPA life patron Dr. Ayaz Ali Khan, Muzammil Saeed Chaudhry, Nadeem Iqbal, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Irfan, Prof. Dr. Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Prof. Dr. Humayun Riaz, Dr. Kaleem Ullah, Dr. Naeem Qaiser, Dr. Jahanzeb Watto, Saqib Saeed Chaudhry, Dr. Ubaidullah, Dr. Bilal Yaseen, Dr. Mehrin Naz and Dr. Asma Fareed Khan.

Speaking on behalf of the association, PPA Punjab Secretary Press Abdul Majeed Bhatti Advocate reiterated the association’s commitment to defending pharmacists’ rights, promoting pharmacy services and working toward implementation of independent prescription practice, with plans for continued action on these priorities.

Participants praised the Pakistan Pharmacists Association for organizing the program and expressed hope that similar training and knowledge-sharing events on topics such as Root Cause Analysis and CAPA will continue in the future to strengthen professional skills and regulatory readiness.
