Pakistan assumes presidency of Digital Cooperation to advance cybersecurity, AI partnerships and digital education, prioritising youth and women in global forums.

Pakistan has taken over the presidency of the Digital Cooperation Organization during the fifth General Assembly held in Kuwait, where senior officials from 16 countries gathered to discuss collective digital priorities.

Minister of State Shaza Fatima Khawaja formally assumed the presidency on behalf of Pakistan, signalling a commitment to strengthen Digital Cooperation across member states and to foster broader international engagement on technology issues.

The Ministry of IT said Pakistan will promote cooperation on cybersecurity and build global partnerships in artificial intelligence while placing digital education and the creation of a safe online environment among its immediate priorities.

Officials emphasised the need to ensure that the benefits of the digital revolution reach youth and women, with targeted efforts to expand access, skills and protections so that participation in the digital economy is more inclusive.

The Ministry of IT indicated that under Pakistan’s presidency the country will play a strong role in global digital debates, working with partners to translate Digital Cooperation into practical programmes that support secure, equitable and innovation-led growth.
