Parliamentary Secretary Farah Naz Akbar, who serves as Member of the National Assembly from Pakistan Muslim League (N) and holds the portfolio for National Heritage and Culture, issued a special message on International Women’s Day highlighting the central role of women in national progress and cultural preservation.
She said women in Pakistan contribute significantly not only within the household but also across education, politics, the economy, arts and social services. Emphasising the importance of women in safeguarding traditions, she noted that women play a vital part in passing cultural values and national heritage to future generations.
Farah Naz Akbar underlined that the government is prioritising education, vocational training and employment opportunities as concrete steps toward meaningful women empowerment. She stressed that providing equal opportunities to women is essential for a balanced and prosperous society where every citizen can participate fully.
Drawing on religious and social principles, she said Islam grants women respect and fundamental rights, and it is a collective responsibility to implement these principles in everyday life. Creating safe, dignified and empowering environments for women was presented as a national priority.
Concluding her message, she extended warm greetings to Pakistani women on International Women’s Day and urged continued efforts to build an educated, confident and empowered female population as the foundation of strong families and a thriving nation.
