SARCCCI leadership shifts as Chandi Raj Dhakal assumes presidency and Atif Akram Sheikh commits to energize regional trade through the SARCCCI platform.

At a formal handover ceremony the leadership of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry changed hands as Nepal’s Chandi Raj Dhakal assumed the presidency from Bangladesh’s Jasim Uddin. The transition marks a new phase for the regional business body as members look to strengthen economic ties across South Asia.

President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Atif Akram Sheikh, accepted the role of Senior Vice President of SARCCCI, reinforcing Pakistan’s active participation in the organisation. Atif Akram Sheikh was elected Senior Vice President for the 2024-2026 term and used the occasion to underline Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional trade links and revitalising the SARCCCI platform.

Speaking at the event, Atif Akram Sheikh praised the outgoing president Jasim Uddin for his exemplary services and conveyed best wishes to the newly elected president Chandi Raj Dhakal. He emphasised that Pakistan will play a proactive role in supporting SARCCCI initiatives and fostering stronger business cooperation across member states.

Atif Akram Sheikh also pledged to take all possible measures, in his capacity as Senior Vice President, to ensure the organisation’s success and to make the SARCCCI platform more dynamic for the benefit of the wider South Asian business community.
