The main purpose of the event was not only to celebrate Mother’s Day but also to remind society of the importance of mothers. Speakers and participants discussed the role of mothers in homes, families and society. They also highlighted how today’s mothers carry many responsibilities and how previous generations of mothers lived with patience, sacrifice and strength.

A key part of the programme was promoting women who work from home to support their families. The organisers said many women prepare handmade items, run small businesses, support their husbands and children, and contribute quietly to society. The event gave these women recognition and encouragement so they could feel confident about their work.

Participants said that mothers are the foundation of society and can bring positive change through love, guidance, education and values. The event was described as a day of love for mothers, a feeling that cannot be fully explained in words.

Different activities were also arranged during the programme. A quiz activity conducted by Tahira was one of the engaging parts of the event, and participants took part with interest. The activities helped create a friendly and joyful atmosphere among the women.

The organisers also appreciated Cakes N Cake for providing a beautiful and delicious cake for Mother’s Day. The cake was praised for its taste, decoration and presentation. Participants said the cake reflected creativity, hard work and the talent of a hardworking lady. The organisers highly recommended the work and prayed for more success, growth and blessings for the business.

The event also carried a wider message of Pakistan Women Empowerment. The women of Airport Housing Society, Islamabad, said they want to support mothers, sisters and daughters who have traditional and cultural skills, especially handmade embroidery, casual and bridal dresses, handicrafts and other cultural products from different parts of Pakistan.

The organisers said Pakistan’s handmade products are part of the country’s identity and can earn respect, recognition and income for women if promoted properly. They said women’s traditional skills are highly valuable and can help improve family income, strengthen communities and support Pakistan’s economy.

The women empowerment message also called for the identification and registration of skilled women across Pakistan, including women from cities, villages and all provinces. It suggested that handmade embroidery, traditional dresses, handicrafts and cultural products should be promoted through exhibitions, fashion shows and online platforms.

The participants also stressed the need to provide women with training in modern design, packaging, marketing and e-commerce. They said this would help women sell their products in national and international markets.

The event further suggested that the government, private sector and overseas Pakistanis should support skilled women through financial help, interest free loans and business opportunities. It also called for a permanent national forum to promote Pakistan’s traditional handmade products and guide women entrepreneurs.

The organisers said educational institutions, media and social media should play a role in teaching young people about Pakistani culture, traditional skills and handmade products. They said products made by women should be promoted under the “Made in Pakistan” identity to improve Pakistan’s image and empower women.
