Discover how Nadeem Iqbal rose from a D.G. Khan village to global research excellence, shaping Pakistani academia and mentoring future scholars.

Nadeem Iqbal emerged from the fertile but overlooked soil of a remote Dera Ghazi Khan village to build a scholarly and administrative career that resonates across Pakistan and beyond. His early education under the shade of trees and in simple school surroundings did not hinder the steady confidence and restless drive that would define his path into higher learning and research.

After completing schooling at Government High School Mian Bhero and further studies at Jamia School Dera Ghazi Khan, he earned a B.Com from Government Commerce College. At Islamia University Bahawalpur he completed an MBA and captained the university cricket team, demonstrating leadership, discipline and competitive spirit that later translated into academic leadership. Cricket for him was not just sport but practical training in resolve and teamwork.

Driven by academic ambition, Nadeem Iqbal won a scholarship to a leading UK university for doctoral studies and later completed a post-PhD degree in Britain in 2016–2017. His research under eminent English scholars gained recognition in international academic circles and established a new scholarly identity alongside his degrees.

Returning to Pakistan, he joined Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan as a lecturer in 2012, revitalised his department and went on to serve as head of department. With the establishment of Ghazi University in 2014 he took on responsibilities as head and campus in-charge, and later served as treasurer, discharging duties for two and a half years with noted integrity.

At Air University Islamabad he served as associate professor and professor, supervising two PhD and two MPhil candidates whose work reached reputable international publishers. Subsequent roles included teaching at the International Islamic University and appointment as professor at National Skills University under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Mukhtar, where he took on departmental chair, controller of examinations, treasurer and internal audit responsibilities, and directed the executive centre.

Throughout his career Nadeem Iqbal introduced two new academic programmes in his discipline, supervised numerous research students, and represented Pakistan at conferences in Thailand, Indonesia, India, Azerbaijan, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. He has served on research committees of leading Pakistani universities, and his portfolio includes over a hundred international research papers and several books with global publishers.

Offered senior positions abroad in the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States, he chose to remain in Pakistan, believing that success carries greater meaning when invested in one’s own soil and people. A 2026 study ranked him among the top management sciences researchers nationally, reflecting a strong research impact and citation record.

Nadeem Iqbal is more than an academic title; he is a teacher, administrator and researcher whose career affirms that steadfast intention, continuous effort and a service-minded purpose can lift a child studying under a village tree to prominence on the world map.
