Women University Mardan holds its first Board of Faculty meeting in Mardan.

Mardan, 30 June 2026: Women University Mardan convened the 1st Meeting of the Board of Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Arts & Humanities under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Women University Mardan.

The meeting was attended by all members of the Board of Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Ms. Haleema Ikram, Director Academics, and external experts Prof. Dr. Rasul Jan and Prof. Dr. Minhaj ul Hassan, whose academic input enriched the proceedings.

The Board discussed a wide range of academic matters, including curriculum development, quality enhancement, implementation of Higher Education Commission (HEC) policies, and other statutory issues. After detailed deliberations, the recommendations and minutes of the Boards of Studies of all departments under the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Arts & Humanities were unanimously approved for onward submission to the Academic Council in line with University rules.

The Board also approved the implementation of the mandatory 3-credit hour Artificial Intelligence (AI) course across relevant academic programmes, incorporation of Fehme ul-Quran I & II as compulsory credit bearing courses for eligible students, and adoption of the revised Pakistan Studies curriculum in accordance with the latest HEC directives.

Several academic proposals were also reviewed and approved, including the establishment of new academic programmes under the Department of Allied Health Science and Art & Design. The move reflects the University’s commitment to expanding quality academic opportunities for females in emerging and professionally relevant disciplines.

Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana said curriculum modernisation, innovation, research, and strict adherence to national quality assurance frameworks remained central to the University’s academic direction. She appreciated the efforts of the faculty members, Ms. Haleema Ikram, and the external experts for their contributions.

Prof. Dr. Rasul Jan and Prof. Dr. Minhaj ul Hassan commended Women University Mardan for its proactive approach to academic governance, curriculum enhancement, and implementation of HEC reforms. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chair.

The successful conduct of the meeting reaffirmed Women University Mardan’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, research, innovation, and women empowerment through quality higher education.
