Islamabad (City Reporter): Pakistan Muslim League-Q central leader and Federal Capital Minorities Affairs Secretary General Irfan Salamat Khokhar has felicitated Right Reverend Bishop Shahid Younus Diwan on his appointment as the new Bishop of the Church of Pakistan, Peshawar Diocese.
In a congratulatory message, Khokhar said the appointment of Bishop Shahid Younus Diwan was a matter of joy and a good omen for the Christian community.
He said Bishop Shahid Younus Diwan was fully qualified and suitable for the holy and prestigious position, describing him as a wise, capable and enthusiastic religious leader with intellectual and scholarly abilities.
Khokhar said the newly appointed bishop had always played an important role in promoting service, unity and interfaith harmony.
He expressed confidence that Bishop Shahid Younus Diwan’s spiritual, religious and leadership abilities would provide new energy, confidence and guidance not only to the Peshawar Diocese but also to the Christian community across the country.
He said the bishop’s leadership would further strengthen the Church’s mission and play an important role in promoting love, peace, tolerance and brotherhood in society.
Khokhar said the role of minorities, particularly the Christian community, had always been valuable in Pakistan’s development, stability and national unity.
He hoped that Bishop Shahid Younus Diwan would discharge his responsibilities with wisdom, sincerity and determination, and would further promote religious harmony, social service and interfaith dialogue in the country.
Khokhar also prayed for Bishop Shahid Younus Diwan’s health, wisdom and steadfastness, and for success in the mission of serving humanity.
