Adiala Jail

Two revenue officers identified as Muhammad Salim Akhter and Raja Ashfaq have been sent to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand by Duty Civil Judge Rawalpindi Muhammad Zaigham.

The officers were arrested by the Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) in connection to a land fraud case. The court has ordered the ACE investigators to produce the accused on March 25 for further proceedings. Earlier, the ACE had booked 10 individuals, including former Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, PTI former health minister Amir Mehmood Kiani, his son Fahad Amir Kiani, and Asim Aziz, the owner of illegal Abdullah City, for submitting tempered documents with RDA for NOC of a housing society and swindling innocent citizens by selling plots in bogus housing society “Avalon City” on Chakri Road.

During the court hearing, the investigation officer of the anti-graft body sought a 7-day extension in physical remand of the accused, but the court rejected the plea and sent them to jail for a 14-day judicial remand.

The officials of ACE Rawalpindi Region have registered a case against the accused under sections 420/468/471/409 of PPC and 5/2/47 of PCA on the complaint/inquiry report of Circle Officer Zulfiqar Muhammad. The anti-graft body is conducting raids to arrest other accused, including former governor Sindh Imran Ismail and ex-minister Amir Mehmood Kiani.
