The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) is reportedly hiding over one hundred illegal entries in the Built-Up Property (BUP) award of Sector G-14. The authority is also hesitant to refer the case to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to hold its own officers accountable and avoid any negative consequences.

While the FGEHA promised plots as compensation to land affecters, it declined to give them citing that it is against policy. The authority also shows no willingness to take action against its own officers who committed this fraud.

BUP award is the assessment of houses present on a particular piece of land during its acquisition, and the acquiring authority pays compensation and rehabilitation benefits as per its policy. In the case of Sector G-14/2 and G-14/3, the FGEHA promised to give plots in Sector G-15 as rehabilitation benefits to those who have their houses in the area.

The BUP award had the names of 406 families with multiple numbers of BUP’s, including over one hundred families’ serial numbers. Although the award was never challenged by the FGEHA, provisional allotment letters were issued to the landowners in 2017 as per the said BUP award.

However, when the allottees approached the authority for the allotment letters, the FGEHA refused to issue them to those families having multiple entries in the BUP’s award, declaring them against the rules.

Director Land FGEHA, Ihsan Elahi, said that such multiple entries were illegal and that the dwelling unit was eligible for a plot only. Some locals have claimed that multiple entries were rightly mentioned in the BUP’s award by ICT administration, while others demanded that the matter should be referred to the FIA to hold officers accountable if they made bogus entries and issued allotment letters.
