ISLAMABAD: A grand motor rally was organised by Top City-1 in Islamabad on Defence Day to pay tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of Pakistan and to express solidarity with the Pakistan Army.
A large number of citizens, youth, families and people from different walks of life participated in the rally, which formally began from Top City-1 at 11am on September 6.
According to the approved route set by the district administration, the rally moved along Srinagar Highway towards F-10, from where the participants proceeded to Fatima Jinnah Park. After passing through the designated route, the rally concluded at F-9 Fatima Jinnah Park.
Hundreds of vehicles took part in the rally. The vehicles were decorated with national flags, banners paying tribute to the martyrs and placards reflecting national spirit.
Participants carrying national flags paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of the Pakistan Army and expressed their resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces for the defence, security and sovereignty of the motherland.
During the rally, photographs of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and banners carrying patriotic messages were also prominently displayed. The participants expressed complete solidarity with the armed forces for the security and defence of Pakistan and conveyed their love and attachment to the Pakistan Army.
Citizens participating in the rally said September 6 reminded the nation of the sacrifices of the great martyrs and ghazis of the 1965 war, who sacrificed their lives, comfort and peace for the defence of the motherland.
They said Defence Day was not only a historic day but also a day to renew national unity, determination, patriotism and loyalty to the country.
The participants said the Pakistan Army was the guarantor of the country’s security and defence. They added that the nation was proud of its brave armed forces and that the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defence of the country were a guiding light for the entire nation.
At the conclusion of the rally, Brigadier (retd) Amjad Jan addressed the participants and said a person’s life was the most precious thing, but soldiers of the Pakistan Army put their lives at stake for the country and nation without fear and attain the status of martyrdom.
Brigadier (retd) Amjad Jan said a strong defence was the foundation of the country’s security, stability and economic development. He said the nation should always remember the sacrifices of its martyrs and transfer their spirit of patriotism to the new generation.
Top City-1 Chief Executive Officer Kunwar Moeez Khan thanked the citizens and people from various walks of life for their active participation in the rally.
In his message, Kunwar Moeez Khan paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of the defence of Pakistan. He said the purpose of holding such events on Defence Day was to acquaint the new generation with the great sacrifices rendered for the defence of the country and to pay tribute to the everlasting services of the martyrs and ghazis.
He said the entire nation was united for Pakistan’s security and sovereignty and would always remember the sacrifices of its brave martyrs, ghazis and the armed forces of Pakistan.
The motor rally organised by Top City-1 on Defence Day presented a dignified scene of national unity, patriotism and solidarity with the armed forces in Islamabad.
The participants gave a clear message that the nation stood with its brave armed forces for the defence, security and sovereignty of Pakistan and that the sacrifices rendered for the defence of the homeland would never be forgotten.
