ISLAMABAD: The leadership of the Rising Pakistan Forum, in a message issued after a meeting held on September 11 to mark the death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, said the nation, since the creation of Pakistan, had remained on a journey in search of a system suited to the country and now wanted reforms in the system.
The forum said Pakistan was facing serious challenges, while political, economic and social conditions had taken a direction that required collective work by political and social leaders, personalities and institutions.
It said the leaders of the Pakistan Movement, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, had devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the struggle for the establishment of Pakistan, adding that there was a need today to work together in the same spirit.
The forum observed that the lack of good governance had brought the country to the brink of a leadership crisis. It said that on the death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam, tributes were paid not only to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement but also to the leadership qualities and tireless spirit of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, from which lessons needed to be learnt.
The meeting was attended by Rising Pakistan President Rakhshanda Tasneem, Senior Vice President Dr Ghulam Ali, Information Secretary Mubashir Ahmed, Additional Secretary Saima Bhatti, Peace Council Pakistan Chairman Khalid Bhatti, political and social leader Sardar Imran Yaseen, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal and a social leader from Rawalpindi.
The participants discussed various aspects of the challenges facing Pakistan in view of national and international conditions. They also presented different suggestions regarding good governance to strengthen the country’s system.
