ISLAMABAD: District Health Officer Islamabad Dr Syeda Rashida Batool attended the World Pharmacists Day 2026 ceremony as chief guest at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). The event was organised by the Pakistan Pharmacists Association Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan chapter under this year’s theme, “Empowering Pharmacists for a Healthier Future.”
The ceremony highlighted the important role of pharmacists in the health sector, particularly in patient care, safe and effective use of medicines, prescription review, dispensing and pharmacovigilance, besides the overall importance of pharmacy services.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Syeda Rashida Batool appreciated the services of pharmacists in ensuring quality healthcare delivery. She said pharmacists were an important part of the healthcare team and that making their role more effective was essential for safe and quality patient care.
She also stressed the need for effective implementation of pharmacy services and strengthening of professional responsibilities so that patients could receive better facilities for safe use of medicines and proper guidance.
During the ceremony, representatives of the Pakistan Pharmacists Association appreciated the recent initiatives of the District Health Office Islamabad relating to pharmacy services and drug control. They also acknowledged the leadership and cooperation of Dr Syeda Rashida Batool for the effective implementation of pharmacy services.
Pharmacists and other health professionals attended the event and highlighted the professional services of the pharmacy sector and its important role in the healthcare system.
