ISLAMABAD, Sept 29: Central President of the All Pakistan Private Schools and Colleges Association (APPSCA), Dr Abrar Hussain Malik, has said that consultation with the private education sector is essential in the formulation of education policy.
Addressing a meeting of the Central Executive Council, Dr Malik said private educational institutions were playing a vital role in promoting education, improving academic standards and training the younger generation.
He said heads of private educational institutions and organisations must be taken into confidence while framing education policies, as a large number of students were enrolled in private institutions and the sector was also providing employment to millions of families.
Dr Malik maintained that the experience of the private sector and ground realities should be considered in the policy-making process.
He called for effective coordination between the government and the private education sector and demanded that representatives of private educational institutions be included in a meaningful consultative process so that policies could address the country’s present and future educational needs.
Secretary General Muhammad Ashraf Haraj, Vice President Javed Iqbal Raja, and senior office-bearers of the Central Executive Committee, including Malik Din Muhammad Awan, Irfan Muzaffar Kiyani, Intikhab Hussain, Qasim Abbas, Syed Israr Shah Bukhari, Muhammad Ibrahim, Malik Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Haji Abdul Rahim Khan, Sardar Gul Zubair Khan, Dr Rukhsana Khan, President APPSCA Female Wing and Member BOG Federal Board, Zulfiqar Ali Siddiqui, and Malik Shaukat Ali Awan, also addressed the meeting.
