A sub-committee meeting for the Pakistan Civil Awards 2025, focused on Arts and Literature, was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Khichi. The committee thoroughly reviewed 129 nominations received from various parts of the country, discussed their merits, and emphasized selection based primarily on a consultative process.
Held at the Cabinet Division in Islamabad, the sub-committee meeting carefully examined nominations from prominent personalities in the fields of arts and literature. Members discussed in detail the criteria for selecting distinguished individuals, stressing the significance of choosing candidates through mutual consultation rather than any alternative process.
The meeting members noted with concern that no nominations had been submitted from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in the cultural category. To address this gap, they agreed that the KP provincial government should again be approached and requested to submit names of eligible candidates promptly. Members confirmed that the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture had previously written a letter to the KP government, however no nominations had yet been received.
Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb Khichi expressed clearly that deserving candidates should be honored without limitation regarding the total number of awards. He reiterated the importance of recognizing genuine talent and contributions to Pakistan’s cultural landscape, insisting that distinction in arts and literature deserved meaningful acknowledgment.
Following completion of the evaluation process, the committee will forward its finalized recommendations for the Pakistan Civil Awards 2025 approval.
