Government Boys High School Hanna Urak, severely damaged by devastating floods in 2022, has now been fully reconstructed and improved, ensuring a safer and enhanced learning environment for students. This critical milestone was achieved through effective collaboration between local authorities, dedicated project teams, and international partners.
Following the floods, the school’s previous building was deemed unsafe, placing students’ education and safety at considerable risk. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Deputy Head of BHCIP, Ms. Inga Afanasieva, along with her dedicated team, swiftly visited the affected site. Their assessment helped develop a comprehensive, secure plan to reconstruct the school safely away from future flood threats.
To protect the facility from similar disasters, a robust flood protection structure was constructed, providing ongoing safety assurances for the students and staff. Additionally, a modern two-story educational building was erected, now hosting fully equipped classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, recreational spaces, and facilities conducive to an enriched and interactive learning experience.
Crucial to the project’s timely completion was the Project Management Unit (PMU), particularly the Development Section operating under the guidance and leadership of Engineer Fareed Ullah Khan. This dedicated team played a pivotal role in ensuring that all planning, construction, and quality control stages were managed efficiently and effectively.
Through strong teamwork, meticulous planning, and unwavering commitment, this project has successfully transformed a difficult setback into a symbol of resilience and hope. Government Boys High School Hanna Urak now stands as a testament to community strength and the power of combined efforts in delivering promising education opportunities to local students.
