**CPDI Organizes Community Meetings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Raise Awareness on Violence Against Women**

The Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CPDI), in collaboration with The Asia Foundation, has conducted a series of community awareness meetings aimed at empowering women in the districts of Nowshera and Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These sessions, held under the Justice Sector Support Program, sought to enhance local understanding of violence against women, inform participants about their legal rights, and provide information on available redress mechanisms.

During the meetings, CPDI Coordinator Mr. Noor Alam addressed the root causes of violence against women and highlighted its profound impact on both individuals and community safety. Emphasizing the importance of legal awareness, the sessions included discussions on relevant national and provincial legislation related to violence against women.

Participants were also given practical information on how to refer cases to appropriate authorities and were introduced to various community-based strategies for preventing violence. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to support community education and promote a safer environment for women by building awareness and fostering local solutions.
