**Pakistan and UK Commit to Deepening Strategic Relations in High-Level UN Meeting**

Pakistan and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing strategic bilateral ties, with a focus on economic, trade, and parliamentary collaboration. The agreement was reached during a high-level meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and the UK Minister for Africa, the UN, Commonwealth, and Multilateral Affairs, Lord Collins of Highbury, on the sidelines of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Open Debate, chaired this month under Pakistan’s presidency.

During their discussions in New York, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation and stressed the importance of further strengthening ties. They welcomed the substantial contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in the United Kingdom, recognizing its vital role in building bridges between the two countries and promoting people-to-people links.

On the multilateral front, Lord Collins praised Pakistan’s leadership during its UNSC presidency, particularly efforts aimed at bolstering peaceful mechanisms for the resolution of international disputes. The positive endorsement reflected growing confidence in Pakistan’s capacity to facilitate meaningful dialogue within the United Nations framework.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to review significant regional and international developments. Both officials discussed the ongoing humanitarian concerns in Gaza and reaffirmed the necessity of diplomatic approaches to resolve conflicts. The situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was also addressed, underscoring the leaders’ shared interest in promoting stability and human rights in the region.

Furthermore, the two sides welcomed the forthcoming International Conference on the Two-State Solution, viewing it as a crucial forum for advancing durable peace in the Middle East. The leaders agreed that continued high-level dialogue and robust multilateral engagement were essential to address the complex challenges facing the global community today.
