Afghan Refugees Support Workshop Highlights Socio-Economic Needs

Relief International (RI), with support from SSARC-GIZ, organized a workshop in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to address the socio-economic needs of Afghan refugees living in urban areas. The event aimed to share recent findings from a comprehensive study and to identify strategies for enhancing service delivery and support systems for the refugee community.

Chaired by Shakeel Muhammad Khan Safi, the Commissioner for Afghan Refugees in KP, the workshop brought together a range of stakeholders, including government officials and partner organizations. Participants reviewed analysis of the main challenges faced by Afghan refugees, focusing on gaps in socio-economic support and essential services.

The discussions centered on identifying practical steps to overcome these challenges, with an emphasis on improving coordination between organizations and aligning efforts for greater impact. Stakeholders agreed on the importance of collaborative action to address the immediate and long-term needs of Afghan refugees, ensuring their better integration and well-being in urban settings.
