The Iranian government has expressed its deep appreciation to Pakistan for the warm hospitality and successful hosting of a high-level Iranian delegation, underscoring the significance of their bilateral relationship and the commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors.
During the visit, gratitude was extended to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his prominent role in ensuring a memorable and historic experience for the Iranian delegation. President Asif Ali Zardari was also acknowledged for personally hosting the delegation at the President’s House, further highlighting the strong diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Pakistan’s military leadership was recognized as well, with special thanks directed to Field Marshal Asim Munir for his valuable contributions to the success of the visit. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, along with his colleagues in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were commended for their professionalism and diligent efforts in managing the visit.
The hospitality extended in Lahore was particularly noted, with appreciation to Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for their gracious welcome in the historic city. Several Pakistani ministers, including Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Jam Kamal Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan, Muhammad Reza Hayat Hiraj, and Attaullah Tarar, were thanked for their dedicated work in strengthening bilateral ties and playing key roles in finalizing twelve important Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
Iran and Pakistan have long shared deep historical, cultural, and strategic links. The recent visit is seen as a major milestone, opening a new chapter in their enduring relationship. Both sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to enhancing collaboration in areas such as trade, infrastructure, and culture.
Echoing the determination of the leadership in both countries, Iranian officials have pledged to work towards increasing the bilateral trade volume to $10 billion. The responsibility for advancing this shared vision has been embraced by the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan and their counterparts at home, who have vowed to tirelessly pursue these goals as a testament to the enduring friendship between Iran and Pakistan.
