The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan and the Sindh Government, have launched a new initiative to support climate-resilient recovery in Dadu. This district, one of the areas most severely affected by the 2022 floods, will see targeted efforts to boost agricultural productivity and improve water availability.

The project is set to directly benefit over 19,000 people by rehabilitating farmlands and irrigation systems damaged by the floods. In addition, solar-powered community water supply schemes will be installed to ensure reliable and sustainable access to clean water.

A key component of the initiative is capacity building for local farmers, water user associations, and government partners. By providing training and resources, the project aims to empower communities to rebuild more effectively and be better prepared for future climate-related challenges.

Through these combined measures, the collaboration underscores a commitment to helping communities recover stronger than before and become more resilient to climate shocks in the years ahead.
