Pakistan has sent its 18th humanitarian aid shipment to Gaza, highlighting its sustained support for the Palestinian people amid a worsening humanitarian crisis. The latest consignment includes over 100 tons of ration bags, ready-to-eat meals, and essential medicines, underscoring Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to provide practical help rather than just vocal support.

The relief effort is spearheaded by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and reflects a transition from symbolic ceremonies to consistent, hands-on assistance. The dispatch event at Islamabad Airport, attended by Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, was a relatively low-key affair. He explained that the aid will travel through Jordan and Oman before reaching civilians in Gaza, where shortages of food, medicine, and shelter remain severe due to sustained conflict and blockade.

Since October 2023, Pakistan has sent more than 1,815 tons of relief goods in 18 shipments, marking both a logistical challenge and a firm political stance, especially as international attention on Gaza fades. NDMA representatives stressed that the assistance is solely humanitarian. Volunteers, including charity workers and university students, joined NDMA staff in loading the goods, offering a tangible show of public empathy. Banners reading “From the People of Pakistan, with Love” were displayed, adding a personal touch to the delivery.

Pakistan’s ongoing support for Gaza is rooted in longstanding cultural, religious, and political ties, with many Pakistanis viewing the Palestinian struggle as a shared cause. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed his pledge to continue aiding Gaza, while NDMA has already begun preparations for a 19th shipment with an emphasis on winter supplies and medical kits. Despite global attention shifting elsewhere, Pakistan’s continued aid efforts send a clear message of enduring solidarity with Gaza.
