The Hazara Journalists Association has announced the results of its recent elections, with all candidates from the Friends Group declared winners without opposition. Luqman Shah has been elected President, Naveed Rehman as General Secretary, and Muhammad Parvez as Finance Secretary, confirming the group’s sweeping victory.
According to the announced election schedule, the deadline for submitting nominations was set for August 19. Only candidates from the Friends Group submitted their papers, while no other group entered the race. Out of 15 initial nominations for the Governing Body, two candidates, Ahsan Awan and Nouman Sadiq, later withdrew their candidacies.
Other uncontested winners include Naveed Jamal, Ghulam Murtaza, and Shams Abbasi as Vice Presidents, Arshad Tanoli as Secretary of Information, and Waqas Ahmed, Tayyab Khan, and Shaukat Malik as Joint Secretaries.
Additionally, 13 members have been declared successful without contest for positions in the Governing Body. These members are Babar Malik, Muhammad Daud, Sajjad Khan, Ashfaq Tanoli, Hamza Ehsan, Shakeel Ahmed, Ali Tanoli, Yasir Mehmood Abbasi, Jahangir Ahmed, Abrar Wali, Anila Sheikh, Umair Khan, and Sultan Ahmed.
The election process was overseen by an election committee chaired by Mehmood Rehman Tanoli, with Raheel Swati and Qaiser Tanoli serving as committee members. The smooth and uncontested outcome highlights unified support for the Friends Group within the Hazara Journalists Association.
