The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in collaboration with the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) and with support from the Embassy of Denmark in Pakistan, has organized a three-day Training of Trainers program in Islamabad. The initiative is part of the SPRE project, which aims to empower educators and community leaders with effective methods to engage youth and foster social inclusion.
During the training, participants were introduced to the Sports Manual, a practical guide designed to use sports as a tool for promoting peace and resilience among young people. The program provided attendees with strategies to counteract violent extremism by encouraging positive interaction and building stronger, more inclusive communities.
This effort reflects a growing commitment from both local authorities and international partners to support youth development and prevent extremism through education and community-based initiatives. The Embassy of Denmark’s funding further underscores the importance of international cooperation in promoting peace and stability in the region.
