Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Mr. Ahsan Iqbal called on Mayor Brandon Johnson during his visit to Chicago.
The meeting focused on promoting cooperation between Pakistan and the City of Chicago, with particular emphasis on education, people to-people linkages and strengthening institutional partnerships. Minister Ahsan Iqbal underscored Pakistan’s priority of developing closer linkages with Chicago based universities and highlighted the critical value of quality education for Pakistan’s future progress, innovation and human capital development.
Mayor Brandon Johnson shared his vision for education as a foundation for inclusive growth, opportunity and community empowerment. He appreciated the role of strong educational institutions in shaping future generations and welcomed opportunities for deeper engagement with Pakistan.
The two sides also discussed ways to further strengthen the sister city relationship between Lahore and Chicago, building on shared values, cultural connections and the contributions of the Pakistani American community.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Sheikh, also attended the meeting.
