RAWALPINDI: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) is being transformed into a model institution in line with national and international standards, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman said.
He was chairing the first meeting of the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) Board, organised by the Directorate of Quality Enhancement (DQE) at PMAS-AAUR.
The meeting was attended by all deans, directors, chairpersons, administrative heads and representatives from Academic and Advanced Studies.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman stressed the need for continuous quality improvement, transparent governance, effective performance monitoring through key performance indicators (KPIs), stakeholder feedback, and the promotion of research, innovation and institutional collaboration.
He said quality enhancement initiatives would be carried forward effectively to make the university a model higher education institution according to national and international standards.
The forum reviewed strategies to further strengthen quality assurance mechanisms, improve academic and administrative performance, enhance teaching and learning outcomes, and ensure compliance with the standards set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and other accreditation bodies.
Director Quality Enhancement Prof Dr Muhammad Javaid Asad briefed the participants on the agenda and related matters.
The meeting concluded with the approval of actionable recommendations and a follow-up mechanism to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of quality enhancement initiatives.
