A dignified ceremony at the Awaam Pakistan Public Secretariat in Waris Khan, Rawalpindi marked the one-year completion of Marqa e HaQ and Operation Bunyan. The programme opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran and was followed by patriotic slogans that resonated throughout the hall, reflecting strong public support for the armed forces.
Samina Shuaib hosted the event while Chaudhry Inam Zafar, Central Vice President of Awaam Pakistan, and Hafiz Usman Abbasi, Additional General Secretary, attended as guests of honour. Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri formally welcomed participants and underlined the ceremony’s message of unity and respect for the military’s sacrifices during Operation Bunyan.
Leaders and community figures paid tribute to Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir and the Pakistan Armed Forces for their courage and dedication. Representatives from the Christian community, including Mumtaz Bhatti, joined the event and expressed appreciation for the party leadership while offering special prayers for the nation and its defenders. Azhar Ali Qadri and Pastor Naser Gill led interfaith prayers for Pakistan’s peace and stability.
Speakers highlighted the lessons of Marqa e HaQ and the role of Operation Bunyan in reinforcing national unity. Hafiz Usman Abbasi described the operation as a testament to the armed forces’ bravery and urged that a renewed Marqa e HaQ must address poverty, unemployment and injustice. He reiterated the party’s commitment to equal representation for workers and to decision making based on consultation and merit.
Chaudhry Inam Zafar praised the solidarity shown by the people for the defence of the homeland and credited Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir with thwarting enemy designs. Senior leader Razia Sultana emphasised Awaam Pakistan’s focus on public service and positive change, and Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri paid strong tribute to the military, saying the nation stands as a solid wall with its armed forces.
The ceremony closed with prayers for the country’s prosperity and stability and public honours for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women. Operation Bunyan was invoked throughout as a symbol of national resolve and the event underscored Awaam Pakistan’s continued political and civic support for the armed forces.
