Ayaz Sadiq meets King Hamad in Bahrain to deepen Pakistan-Bahrain parliamentary ties, pursue SDG collaboration and secure support for flood relief efforts.

Ayaz Sadiq met His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Al-Safriya Palace in Bahrain on Tuesday, a meeting described by both sides as warm and reflective of longstanding brotherly ties between the two countries.

The NA Speaker conveyed cordial greetings on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, with His Majesty returning best wishes for Pakistan’s leadership and praying for the welfare of the Pakistani people.

In a comprehensive exchange of views the two leaders focused on regional peace and stability. Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on the peaceful resolution of the disputes in Palestine and Kashmir, strongly condemning the ongoing atrocities and urging just and lasting settlements to achieve sustainable peace.

King Hamad commended Pakistan’s recent Pakistan-Saudi Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement as a milestone for regional security and praised Pakistan’s role as a key country in the Muslim world. Ayaz Sadiq responded by reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to defending shared values and working with partners to promote collective security and cooperation.

Both sides highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across parliamentary, economic and cultural fields. Ayaz Sadiq praised Bahrain’s parliament for establishing a dedicated Sustainable Development Goals section on its official website and offered Pakistan’s support in advancing shared SDG objectives and institutional linkages between the two legislatures.

The King expressed deep sorrow over the recent floods in Pakistan and conveyed Bahrain’s solidarity and readiness to assist with relief and rehabilitation. Ayaz Sadiq expressed profound gratitude for Bahrain’s compassion and pledged to strengthen coordination on humanitarian support.

The parliamentary delegation accompanying the Speaker included Zulfiqar Bhind, Musarrat Rafique Mahesar, Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, Sardar Shamsher Ali Khan Mazari, Abdul Aleem Khan, Muhammad Usman Badini, Hassan Sabir, Khursheed Ahmed Junejo and Polan Baloch, underscoring Pakistan’s intent to deepen parliamentary exchanges and legislative cooperation with Bahrain.
