Capital Hospital signs MoU with Alibaba Medical to deploy AI radiology screening, improving diagnostics, speed and patient care in Islamabad.

A new collaboration will bring Alibaba Medical’s artificial intelligence tools to the radiology department at Capital Hospital in Islamabad, introducing AI radiology screening designed to strengthen diagnostic accuracy and support earlier detection of disease.

The memorandum of understanding was signed at Capital Hospital in a ceremony attended by Executive Director Dr Naeem Taj, senior hospital doctors and representatives from Alibaba AI. The initiative is being pursued under the guidance of CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and CDA Member Administration Talat Mehmood, reflecting the authority’s commitment to modernise public health services.

Under the agreement, advanced AI technologies will be integrated into imaging workflows so that clinicians receive timely decision support when interpreting images. The introduction of AI radiology tools aims to reduce reporting times, improve departmental efficiency and raise the overall standard of patient care.

Dr Naeem Taj said the collaboration aligns with the CDA leadership’s strategic vision to adopt digital public health methods and drive innovation in service delivery. He added that patients will benefit from access to up-to-date medical technologies while clinical teams will gain reliable diagnostic support to enhance medical decision making.

The hospital expects that implementing AI radiology screening will contribute to faster diagnoses, more efficient reporting and sustained improvements in clinical outcomes, reinforcing Capital Hospital’s efforts to become a leading healthcare provider in the country.
