CDA Chairman Takes Strict Action Against Officials for Failure to Remove Illegal Houses

Islamabad : Noor ul Amin Mengal, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), recently traveled over several different areas of Islamabad.

Some of these areas were C-13, C-14, C-15, and C-16, in addition to Shah Allah Ditta and Margalla Avenue.

During the course of his tour, he voiced his dissatisfaction with the authorities for their inability to remove unlawful structures in C-13 and suspended the deputy director general of the environment wing.

On a more upbeat note, he also announced the creation of a Sports Enclave in the Shah Allah Ditta neighborhood. This enclave would contain facilities for sports like cricket, volleyball, rock climbing, and zip lining.

In addition, the chairman reprimanded the engineering wing for not finishing the building of a road with a width of fifty feet at the intersection of Margalla Avenue and Sector D-12.

He then instructed the officials in charge of the project to finish the road within three days.

In addition to this, he voiced his displeasure with the sluggish progress being made on the Shah Allah Ditta underpass and the service road that runs along Margalla Avenue.

In addition to this, he issued a directive to the member estate that newly built properties in C-13 and other sectors be demolished.

He also issued a directive to the DG enforcement that no new constructions be made in the sectors C-13, C-14, C-15, or C-16.

Mr. Mengal also stressed the significance of ensuring the safety of those traveling on the roads by adding that the slip road that connects Margalla Avenue and Sector D-12 had to be dual-laned in order to reduce the risk of collisions.

When planning the route, he encouraged the officials to give consideration to the safety of the drivers using it.

In addition to this, he advocated for the revitalization of the historic path traveled by Alexander the Great, which runs through Islamabad Trail 8 and connects Shah Allah Ditta and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mr. Mengal gave orders to the officials to complete the work on the fencing that runs along Margalla Avenue, put traffic lights on Margalla Avenue as soon as possible, and repair curb stones that are not of a great quality.

He also suspended the deputy director general of the environment wing and chastised officials from the enforcement and land wings for their failure to enforce the landscaping legislation.
