China Pakistan Art Exhibition Celebrates 75 Years

A vibrant China Pakistan Art exhibition opened in Islamabad on 18 March as a collaborative initiative by China Media Group and the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Ms. Wajiha Qamar, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, attended as the chief guest and said the relationship between Pakistan and China extends beyond strategic and diplomatic bonds to deep people-to-people connections. She noted that the exhibition uses colour and artistic expression to reflect that cultural harmony and that such cultural initiatives are important to strengthen bilateral ties and to educate the younger generation about the significance of this historic friendship.

Mr. Chen Peng, Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, was present as guest of honour and described the China Pakistan Art exhibition as a celebration of the timeless friendship built on mutual trust, cultural harmony and sustained cooperation. He said fine arts provide a shared language to highlight common heritage, promote mutual understanding and bring the two societies closer.

Ms. Farah Naz Akbar, Parliamentary Secretary for the National Heritage and Culture Division, highlighted the vital role of culture and fine arts in strengthening social bonds and said exhibitions like this serve as an effective platform for mutual respect, cultural exchange and harmony.

The exhibition featured works by prominent artists from Pakistan and China and drew appreciation from attendees across diverse walks of life, including both Pakistani and Chinese participants. The event in Islamabad reinforces efforts to deepen cultural linkages and foster greater people-to-people harmony as part of ongoing Pak–China cooperation.
