Three government officials have been arrested by the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle in Islamabad on charges of corruption and fraud related to the illegal registration and allocation of valuable plots worth millions of rupees.
According to FIA officials, the arrested suspects have been identified as Abdullah Khan, Nasir Hayat, and Maqsood Ahmed. Abdullah Khan and Maqsood Ahmed were serving as Assistant Administrative Officers, while Nasir Hayat held the position of Senior Private Secretary, all working under the Ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit Affairs.
During the investigation, the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle discovered that these officials had unlawfully approved the allotment and registration of government plots in Jhelum, in clear violation of established allotment guidelines. Specifically, the accused were illegally involved in the allocation of plots intended exclusively for Kashmiri residents to non-Kashmiri individuals, causing losses worth millions to the national exchequer.
Authorities have already begun extensive investigation proceedings following the arrests. An FIA spokesperson indicated that ongoing inquiries will also aim to identify and apprehend any accomplices who collaborated with the accused officials in this fraudulent operation.
