Customs Enforcement in Quetta seized smuggled goods worth Rs 317 million, including cigarettes, phones and NCP vehicles; legal action under Customs Act 1969.

Acting on credible intelligence and with support from Quetta Police, Customs Enforcement Quetta recovered smuggled goods valued at Rs 317 million as part of an intensified drive against illicit trade in the region. The operations were conducted in strict compliance with prescribed SOPs following thorough examination.

Authorities recovered 508 cartons (25,400 sticks) of smuggled cigarettes of various brands, an item estimated at Rs 200 million. The seizure followed careful checks and verification carried out by Customs Enforcement teams working with local law enforcement.

In separate actions, large quantities of smuggled mobile phones and 13 Non-Custom-Paid vehicles were seized, with the combined value of these items estimated at Rs 117 million. These recoveries reflect coordinated efforts to intercept contraband moving through Quetta and surrounding areas.

All confiscated items have been placed in official custody while further legal proceedings are being initiated under the relevant provisions of the Customs Act, 1969. The actions taken by Customs Enforcement will feed into ongoing investigations and potential prosecutions.

The Federal Board of Revenue has reiterated its commitment to curbing smuggling, preventing illicit trade and safeguarding national revenue. Strengthened enforcement in Quetta aims to disrupt smuggling networks, protect legitimate local businesses and secure the economic interests of the province and the country.
