Danyal Chaudhry inaugurates Sui Gas pipeline in Rawalpindi, delivering relief and improved services as government advances energy access and local development.

Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, inaugurated a newly completed Sui Gas pipeline in Chaklala Scheme-III in Rawalpindi today, a development residents said will significantly improve basic amenities in the area. The Sui Gas pipeline project responds to a long-standing local demand and aims to deliver direct relief to households.

During the inauguration, Barrister Danyal emphasized that no political leader stands above Pakistan and that anything harming the country’s dignity is unacceptable. He said elements conducting negative campaigns against Pakistan and their facilitators have been exposed, and national unity must be preserved as the government pursues development priorities.

Addressing broader energy challenges, he noted that the global gas and electricity crisis, intensified by tensions in the Middle East, has strained supply chains and raised prices. Despite these pressures, the government under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is implementing a comprehensive strategy to protect consumers and ensure energy access. The Sui Gas pipeline is being presented as part of those efforts to provide practical relief.

Barrister Danyal also highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the region, saying the country’s mediation efforts have been recognised internationally and that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif alongside Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir have strengthened Pakistan’s diplomatic standing. He observed that these successes have drawn criticism from some quarters abroad, including negative coverage in India.

The Parliamentary Secretary expressed regret over an incident in Geneva where a speech by the son of PTI’s founder was said to have harmed Pakistan’s international image. He criticised PTI for opposing IMF assistance in the past and for moves that he described as attempting to undermine Pakistan’s GSP Plus status, calling such actions contrary to national interest.

Reiterating the government’s public welfare focus, Barrister Danyal said top priority remains delivering basic services at citizens’ doorsteps, with ongoing development projects being monitored closely to prevent delays and ensure quality. Local elders and residents present at the inauguration praised the completion of the Sui Gas pipeline and welcomed the expected improvement in living standards for Chaklala Scheme-III.
