A delegation from the 27th National Security Workshop visited the National Emergency Operations Centre at NDMA headquarters in Islamabad for an in-depth briefing on Pakistan’s disaster management approach. Officials outlined the Authority’s mandate, organisational structure and the nationwide framework that guides disaster risk reduction, preparedness and response.
The delegation received a detailed explanation of NEOC’s round-the-clock monitoring and coordination functions, highlighting real-time data sharing and early warning dissemination as central pillars of national-level emergency management. NDMA staff emphasised how inter-agency collaboration is coordinated through the centre to ensure coherent and timely action.
NDMA NEOC experts demonstrated how state-of-the-art monitoring and forecasting systems support timely communication of early warnings to relevant departments, enabling swift preventive and preparedness measures. The team also described technology-driven tools and centralized coordination mechanisms used to strengthen planning, risk communication and operational readiness ahead of Monsoon 2025.
Delegates praised the forward-looking strategy and NDMA’s commitment to building resilience through anticipatory planning and coordinated response mechanisms. The visit concluded with an interactive discussion in which participants exchanged practical insights on enhancing national disaster management capabilities and institutional collaboration.
