easypaisa and KTrade unveiled their partnership in Islamabad to enable instant digital PSX account onboarding through the easypaisa app.

ISLAMABAD: easypaisa digital bank and KTrade have entered into a first-of-its-kind partnership to make stock market investment more accessible for Pakistanis by enabling instant digital Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) account onboarding through the easypaisa app.

The collaboration allows easypaisa users to open a KTrade PSX investment account within 10 minutes through a fully digital onboarding process. The initiative removes traditional barriers and paperwork that have long limited wider public participation in Pakistan’s capital markets.

The partnership was formally unveiled at a ceremony held in Islamabad last week. The event was attended by senior representatives of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), including Commissioner Muzaffar Mirza; National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) Chief Executive Officer Naveed Qazi; Central Depository Company (CDC) Chief Executive Officer Badiuddin Akber; and senior officials from easypaisa and KTrade.

According to the companies, the impact of the partnership was immediate, with easypaisa and KTrade recording the highest number of investment accounts opened in a single day in PSX history. They said the milestone set a new benchmark for digital wealth creation in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Jahanzeb Khan, President and CEO of easypaisa digital bank, said the company’s mission was to unlock access to financial opportunities for every Pakistani.

“Through our partnership with KTrade, we are extending this vision beyond payments and banking into investments, enabling users to participate in Pakistan’s capital markets through a simple, secure, and fully digital experience,” he said.

He added that the partnership marked another important step towards building a more financially empowered and inclusive Pakistan. He also thanked SECP, NCCPL and CDC for their continued support in digitising the onboarding of brokerage accounts, saying their role had laid the foundation for millions more Pakistanis to participate in the formal investment landscape and help drive the next phase of growth in Pakistan’s capital markets.

KTrade CEO Mahmood Ali Shah Bukhari said the future of investing lay in accessibility and convenience.

“Through our collaboration with easypaisa, we are bringing the stock market closer to millions of Pakistanis and making wealth creation opportunities available at their fingertips,” he said, adding that the two organisations were helping cultivate a stronger investment culture in the country.

Representatives from NCCPL highlighted the significance of digital innovation in expanding investor participation and strengthening Pakistan’s financial ecosystem. CDC was also acknowledged for its supportive role in enabling the infrastructure and collaboration required to bring the initiative to life.

The partnership aligns with broader national efforts to increase retail participation in capital markets, encourage the adoption of digital financial services and create new avenues for wealth creation among underserved segments of society.

With instant account onboarding, seamless user journeys and secure market access, easypaisa and KTrade said they were paving the way for a new generation of digital investors and helping more Pakistanis take their first step towards long-term financial growth.

easypaisa has over 60 million registered users and is the country’s first digital bank to commence commercial operations. The bank said it remained aligned with the State Bank of Pakistan’s vision of inclusive economic growth and would continue expanding its range of financial products and services for existing users as well as millions of unbanked or underbanked Pakistanis.
