easypaisa digital bank and Transsion signed a strategic partnership in Islamabad to expand access to digital financial services.

Islamabad, Sept 24, 2026: easypaisa digital bank, Pakistan’s leading digital bank, has entered into a strategic partnership with Transsion, one of the world’s largest smartphone manufacturers, to expand access to digital financial services across the country.

Under the collaboration, the easypaisa app will be pre-installed on more than five million new smartphones in Pakistan across Transsion’s major brands, including Infinix, TECNO and itel. The move will enable users to access digital banking and financial services as soon as they activate their devices.

The initiative comes as smartphone adoption continues to grow in Pakistan, with 3G/4G device uptake reaching 71.6 per cent. Both organisations aim to use technology to bridge gaps in financial access and encourage wider participation in formal financial services.

The partnership is particularly focused on underserved and unbanked segments, many of whom are using smartphones and mobile internet for the first time.

The agreement was signed in Islamabad by Farhan Hassan, Chief Digital Officer, easypaisa digital bank, and Michael Wang, Vice President Global Partnerships, Transsion. Senior representatives from both organisations were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Farhan Hassan said easypaisa’s mission had always been to simplify access to financial services and create opportunities for every Pakistani.

“This partnership with Transsion represents a significant step forward in making digital banking available at the point where consumers begin their digital journey,” he said. “By embedding access to financial services directly onto smartphones, we are removing barriers, expanding reach, and bringing millions more people into the formal financial ecosystem.”

He added that the collaboration would help accelerate Pakistan’s journey towards a more inclusive and digitally empowered economy.

Muhammad Abdul Qadeer, Country Manager, Transsion Pakistan, said the partnership reflected the value of combining technology, scale and local market understanding to create meaningful digital experiences for consumers.

“With millions of smartphones entering the hands of Pakistani consumers through our brands, integrating access to trusted digital financial services such as easypaisa creates an opportunity to make financial inclusion a natural part of the smartphone journey,” he said.

He said Transsion was proud to collaborate with easypaisa on an initiative that could deliver meaningful impact at scale across Pakistan.

According to the two organisations, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to using ecosystem partnerships to address barriers to financial inclusion and accelerate digital adoption. By combining Transsion’s smartphone footprint with easypaisa’s digital banking products and services, the initiative is expected to support customer acquisition, increase app penetration and improve user engagement with formal financial services.

As Pakistan’s first digital bank, easypaisa continues to expand its ecosystem through strategic partnerships aimed at making financial services simpler, safer and more accessible. The pre-installation initiative marks another milestone in its efforts to reach underserved communities, empower consumers through technology and contribute to a more connected and inclusive digital economy.

easypaisa has over 60 million registered users and is the country’s first digital bank to commence commercial operations. The bank remains aligned with the State Bank of Pakistan’s vision of inclusive economic growth and continues to broaden its range of financial products and services for existing users as well as millions of unbanked and underbanked people.
