A joint raid was launched today after a confidential tip-off, with SDFO patrol squad West Circle operating under the supervision of the SDFO Timergara. During routine checking a small pickup was stopped and inspection revealed valuable timber planks hidden beneath gas cylinders in a deliberate attempt to evade departmental checks.
The enforcement team acted swiftly to recover the timber on site and took the vehicle into custody. Initial legal proceedings have been completed and a case has been registered against the suspects under the Forest Act, with further investigation continuing. The operation highlights active measures against illegal timber smuggling in the region.
Authorities emphasised that forests are a vital national asset and called for continued vigilance by local communities and enforcement bodies to protect Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s forest resources from illegal exploitation.
