Day three of the three-day step-down training on responding to gender-based violence took place on 24 October 2025 at Serena Hotel in Quetta, bringing together service providers to reinforce survivor-centered practices and safe disclosure protocols.
Ms. Rabia Khan opened the day with a reflective session that revisited core learnings on safe disclosure, safety planning and psychological first aid, underscoring the importance of survivor-centered GBV case management in local settings.
The training included a hands-on Referral Web Activity led by Ms. Rabia Khan to illustrate coordination among service providers. Ms. Bakht Zamina from IFRAP then guided participants through survivor-centered communication techniques, stressing empathy, confidentiality and respectful engagement when supporting survivors.
Ms. Shumaila Parveen of UNFPA delivered a session on safe and ethical record keeping alongside self-care for responders, highlighting confidential documentation practices, ethical standards for case files and the mental well-being of those providing frontline GBV support.
The event concluded with remarks from Ms. Sadia Atta, Head of Office, UNFPA Balochistan, who commended participants for active engagement and encouraged sustained collaboration to strengthen GBV response and coordination across the province.
Attendees represented the Social Welfare Department, the Police Juvenile Unit, the Attorneyโs Office, local NGOs and community-based organisations, reflecting a multi-sector commitment to improving safe disclosure mechanisms and survivor support in Balochistan.
